This policy is for parents and pupils (“you”,”your”) and explains how Stamatia Ntetsika (“I”) collects, uses and discloses your personal information. I aim to comply with the Data Protection Act (the “DPA”) and the European data protection law (known as the General Data Protection Regulation, “GDPR”) when handling your personal information. The purpose of these laws is to safeguard information about people (referred to in the DPA and GDPR as Personal Data) and covers issues such as data security, individuals’ rights to access information about them and the use and disclosure of Personal Data. For the purposes of the DPA I am the Data Controller of Personal Data about pupils and their parents and/or guardians. This means that I am responsible for compliance with the law. Types of Personal Data collected and processed by me

When you request an assessment or tuition (either online or over the phone) I need to know basic personal information about you (and/or your child) to contact you and to book an interview, assessment or tuition. Personal Data processed by me includes names, ages and contact details, medical / health information, biometric data, national curriculum and other educational and psychological assessment information, attendance records (including number of absences and absence reasons), information relating to special educational needs (and in relation to parents and/or guardians, may include financial information). I may also process Sensitive Personal Data such as information about parents’ and/or pupils’ ethnic group, religious beliefs, language, nationality, country of birth and relevant medical information. I may acquire Personal Data in a number of ways. For example, parents of pupils may provide me with Personal Data about themselves or their family in correspondence, forms, documents, during discussions, and through our website or over the telephone. I may also acquire Personal Data from third parties including other parents and pupils, previous centres, public authorities or from commercial sources.

How Your Data is Handled

I take commercially-reasonable technical, administrative, and physical security measures designed to protect your information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. The computers and servers in which I store Personal Data are kept in a secure environment. As far as possible, records of Personal Data are kept in cloud-based password-protected electronic copy form or in a secure cabinet when in hard copy form. I store your personal data (name, address, contact details, questionnaire responses and assessment reports) for the period recommended by the professional associations (British Dyslexia Association, Patoss and Dyslexia Guild) after which time it will be destroyed. I only use your contact details to supply you with information, visit you or send you an invoice or assessment report.

Your Rights

To the extent a specific element of my processing of your personal data relies upon your consent, you may withdraw such consent at any time with future effect. Such a withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of the processing prior to the consent withdrawal. Cookie Policy

My website uses cookies to enhance the user’s experience while visiting the website.
